Sculptra™ is the latest product on the market for dermal contouring. Sculptra® is an injectable product that restores and corrects the signs of facial fat loss by replacing lost volume. It has been approved by the FDA for restoration and/or correction of the signs of facial fat loss (lipoatrophy) in certain individuals.

Sculptra® provides an increase in skin thickness, helping to create a more natural facial appearance in those with facial lipoatrophy. Sculptra® is composed of poly-L-lactic acid, a synthetic material. Sculptra® does not require a skin test. Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) does not harm the body and is biodegradable (able to be broken down by the body). This material has been widely used in surgical products for many years. The effects are long-lasting and has been shown in a clinical study to last for up to 2 years after the first treatment session.
