Breast Surgery Procedures
BREAST AUGMENTATION
Plastic surgery is about choices. A woman may know that she desires breast enlargement, but she needs to know what choices she has. How large does she want to be? Should her implants be placed under the muscle? Where will her incisions be? What about changing previous implants?
Dr. Mirabile is one of the busiest plastic surgeons in the area performing over 100 breast augmentation operations annually. Dr. Mirabile is able to offer all of the choices available in today’s marketplace for breast enhancement, including high profile implants. During your free consultation, you will have the opportunity to explore a variety of possible breast sizes and a number of options regarding implant types. After meeting with Dr. Mirabile, each patient is able to choose the size and shape breasts that she dreams about as well as an incision site that reflects her needs and lifestyle. If you are still unsure about choosing a breast size- you are able to take sample implants to experiment under your favorite clothing in the privacy of your own home.
BREAST LIFT
Over the years, factors such as pregnancy, nursing, and the force of gravity take their toll on a woman’s breasts. As the skin loses its elasticity, the breasts often lose their shape and firmness and begin to sag. A Breast lift, or Mastopexy, is a well-tolerated surgical procedure that raises and reshapes sagging breasts. Although no surgery can permanently delay the effects of gravity, a Mastopexy will recreate youthful breasts as well as possibly reducing the size of the areola, the darker skin surrounding the nipple. If your breasts are small or have lost volume and feel deflated, Dr. Mirabile may suggest inserting breast implants in conjunction with a breast lift. A breast lift with implants will increase both breast size and firmness.
BREAST REDUCTION
Breast reduction, technically known as reduction mammoplasty, is designed for women with large breasts. The procedure removes fat, glandular tissue, and skin from the breasts, making them smaller, lighter, and firmer. It can also reduce the size of the areola, the darker skin surrounding the nipple. The goal is to give a woman smaller, better-shaped breasts in proportion with the rest of her body.
